AI Field Autofill

An agentic loop that fills an onboarding field from the client's real website, their Google Business listing and their DNS — then queues the value into GoHighLevel.

AI Field Autofill in Power CRM

The data entry that removes itself

Most of what you ask a new client for during onboarding is already public. Their address, their hours, their phone number, their services, their positioning, their registrar. Asking a human to retype it is the single most avoidable cost in agency onboarding.

Grounded before it is generated

Power CRM crawls the client’s website in the background and stores it as a local knowledge base. Every AI feature in the app reads from that crawl — so when the model answers a question about the client, it is answering from the client’s own site, not from a plausible-sounding average of the internet.

An agent, not a completion

Field generation runs a real tool loop, up to five iterations. The model receives the client record, every other field’s current value, and the crawled site content, and it can call:

  • lookup_google_business — the client’s Google Business listing: address, hours, phone, review presence.
  • lookup_domain — DNS and registrar facts about the client’s domain.

It uses those to check itself before it answers. When a tool’s API key is not configured, the loop degrades gracefully rather than failing. Reasoning models that do not support forced tool selection are detected and fall back to a single-shot call automatically.

The output is a value for one specific field, consistent with the rest of the record — not a paragraph you then have to edit down.

The field still has to be approved

An AI-generated value lands in the field with its status intact. It flows through the same status flow as anything a human typed, so a person still approves it before the field is considered done, and it reaches GoHighLevel through the same durable write queue as a manual edit. The AI removes typing, not judgment.

Self-documenting fields

The description generator writes the instruction for a field — using your agency context, the field’s folder, and the names of sibling fields — as an actionable sentence with an example, not a dictionary definition. That is what stops a client from writing “yes” in a field that wanted a URL.

No vendor lock-in

The AI stack is a ladder: Claude on a subscription connection, OpenRouter, the Anthropic API, an internal gateway, or OpenAI. Each request can run on the standard model or, with a toggle, an advanced one. If a model is deprecated or a provider goes down, the app is still running.

Questions about ai field autofill

Does the AI make things up?

It is grounded. Before generating, the app crawls the client's website into a local knowledge base and passes it as context, along with every other field on the record. During generation it can call a Google Business lookup and a domain lookup to check facts rather than guess them.

Does an AI-generated value go straight into GoHighLevel?

It goes into the field with its status intact, so it still moves through your review flow before it counts as approved — and it is queued into GoHighLevel through the same durable sync path as any manual edit.

Which AI provider do you use?

The provider ladder is configurable — Claude, OpenRouter, the Anthropic API, an internal gateway, or OpenAI. Reasoning models that do not support forced tool calls are detected and handled automatically.
